چکیده
is an open access repository that collects the work of Arts et Métiers ParisTech researchers and makes it freely available over the web where possible. f a b s t r a c t We present a simple numerical method to simulate the interaction of two non-miscible compressible materials separated by an interface. The media considered may have significantly different physical properties and constitutive laws, describing for example fluids or hyperelastic solids. The model is fully Eulerian and the scheme is the same for all materials. We show stiff numerical illustrations in case of gas–gas, gas–water, gas–elastic solid interactions in the large deformation regime.

A Simple Second Order Cartesian Scheme for Compressible Flows
A simple second order scheme for compressible inviscid flows on cartesian meshes is presented. An appropriate Rieman solver is used to impose the impermeability condition. The level set function defines the immersed body and provides some useful geometrical data to increase the scheme accuracy. A modification of the convective fluxes computation for the cells near the solid ensures the boundary...
متن کاملA simple second order cartesian scheme for compressible Euler flows
We present a finite-volume scheme for compressible Euler flows where the grid is cartesian and it does not fit to the body. The scheme, based on the definition of an ad hoc Riemann problem at solid boundaries, is simple to implement and it is formally second order accurate. Results show that pressure is locally and globally second accurate, whereas the accuracy of other variables is between 1 a...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation on Compressible Flow Characteristics in Axial Compressors Using a Multi Block Finite Volume Scheme
An unsteady two-dimensional numerical investigation was performed on the viscous flow passing through a multi-blade cascade. A Cartesian finite-volume approach was employed and it was linked to Van-Leer's and Roe's flux splitting schemes to evaluate inviscid flux terms. To prevent the oscillatory behavior of numerical results and to increase the accuracy, Monotonic Upstream Scheme for Conservat...
متن کاملThe numerical simulation of compressible flow in a Shubin nozzle using schemes of Bean-Warming and flux vector splitting
Over the last ten years, robustness of schemes has raised an increasing interest among the CFD community. The objective of this article is to solve the quasi-one-dimensional compressible flow inside a “Shubin nozzle” and to investigate Bean-Warming and flux vector splitting methods for numerical solution of compressible flows. Two different conditions have been considered: first, there is a sup...
متن کاملA Cartesian Grid Approach with Hierarchical Re nement for Compressible Flows
Many numerical studies of ows that involve complex geometries are limited by the di culties in generating suitable grids. We present a Cartesian boundary scheme for two-dimensional, compressible ows which is unfettered by the need to generate a computational grid and so it may be used, routinely, even for the most awkward of geometries. In essence, an arbitrary-shaped body is allowed to blank o...
